When athletes run a race, what do they do? They follow the dictum: On your mark, get set, Go! The ‘Go’ comes last. Many people want to serve the Lord, but they last only a short while. Because they are neither on the mark; nor set; and, most importantly, they don’t have the ‘Go’ in them.

Jesus had the ‘Go’

We must have that ‘Go’ in us, just like Jesus, Who often used the word ‘Go’ immediately after He had performed a miracle. He told the Centurion, “Go! It will be done just as you believed it would.” (Matt 8:13) He told the blind man, “Go, your faith has healed you.” (Mark 10:52) He told the woman, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” (Mark 5:34)

Do you have the ‘Go’ in you?

Jesus told you and me, “Go and make disciples to preach the good news all over Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the world.” Many people don’t have the ‘Go’ in them to make disciples of all nations. They say, “Brother, I want to serve the ministry, but I don’t want to work.” They are like the man, who said “Jesus, I want to come with you.” But Jesus said “You cannot come with me. Go to your family.” (Mark 5:19) Only a few are chosen to serve the Lord. Some parents get their children married even though their sons and daughters don’t have the ‘Go’ for marriage. Who suffers in the end? Who has to live with the husband? The daughter or her parents? Similarly, some people send their sons to become priests because they had promised God that they would give one son to the Lord. That poor fellow never had the ‘Go’ to become a priest. So get into your closet, pray and find out what your call is.
Then ‘Go’ and answer it!
